While talking about the casting couch issue he said, “I have been working in the film industry as a director for 15-20 years, so I have heard a lot about the casting couch in the industry. A girl comes, is afraid, and feels that she will have to compromise without even hearing it from the second party. But I want to tell you that if a girl or woman is unable to say ‘no’, it does not necessarily mean that her chances of career progress increase. It is not that if a girl compromises, she will definitely get a role.”

He further said, “If a girl can say ‘no’ and respects herself, then only others respect her.” He also said that casting decisions are often based on whether the filmmakers are taking that person seriously. Imtiaz also said, “People like us often think whether we should take that person seriously or not. We should respect him before casting him.” If we talk about the work front of Imtiaz Ali then let us tell you that his directorial film Amar Singh Chamkila was released recently that featured Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles in it and was released on Netflix.
