Veteran actress Dipika Chikhlia is still remembered as Sita from her popular mythological show ‘Ramayana’. She has maintained her image among the people even today. Recently, the actress shared how much struggle she had to go through to become Sita. Dipika said that she used to wear saree hiding in the back seat of the car.
Dipika recalls her ‘Ramayana’ days
The actress told that while shooting for ‘Ramayana’, the only thing which was applied in the name of makeup was ‘Kajal’. At that time, even bindi and lipstick with stickers were not available.
Dipika said that in today’s time, every actor and actress gets a personal vanity van. They can freshen up properly, use the toilet, change clothes, get makeup done and rest for some time. But this was not the case in her days. At that time, there were problems on the sets for going to the washroom or changing clothes. In order to go to toilet, Dipika had to knock on the doors of people in the neighborhood and request them to let her go to the washroom. Makers used to set tents of old clothes so that actors can change clothes.
Dipika revealed that outdoor shoots caused her most of the troubles to her. She told that she had to struggle a lot in wearing the saree to become Sita. She used to put the saree on the seat of a car. The actress stated, “Imagine, I used to wear saree by sitting on the middle of the back seat of the car. I used to put cloth on the mirrors. But that too was a different kind of experience.”
