Chinmayi Sripaada Slams Rahat Fateh Ali Khan For ‘Beating’ His Disciple

Chinmayi Sripaada called out the behaviour of singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for hitting a man with a shoe. Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has become embroiled in a controversy following the viral social media video in which it appears he physically hit a personal employee.

Prominent playback singer Chinmayi Sripaada has now responded to the video on her X account and called out the singer’s behaviour as ‘horrendous.’

Chinmayi calls Rahat out

Chinmayi shared the video where Rahat was seen thrashing his employee. She highlights the hypocrisy of these so-called greats.  She calls his act ‘horrendous’.

Chinmayi on Clarification

She also reacted to the clarification given by the Pakistani singer. She criticizes the abusive teacher-student dynamic and raises the urgent need to stop this sort of behaviour.

Rahat trashing his student

The graphic video, circulating on the internet, reportedly shows Rahat Fateh Ali Khan repeatedly slapping and kicking the employee, even using his shoes to hit him. The singer sternly warns the man, threatening physical consequences if the missing bottle is not located. Voices can be heard pleading for him to stop, highlighting the severity of the alleged incident. This incident prompted serious questions about his conduct and sent shockwaves through the Pakistani music industry and beyond.

Rahat’s clarification

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan later issued a clarification in a video that featured the man who was beaten up. He said in the video: “This concerns a private matter between Shagird and Ustad. He is like my kid. This is the nature of the relationship between a mentor and his followers.”.
