Chinmayi Sripaada Slams ‘Virgin Girls Difficult To Find’ Comment: ‘Then Men Shouldn’t Have Premarital Sex’

Singer and outspoken commentator Chinmayi Sripaada has once again drawn attention for her candid response to an offensive remark made on social media. The singer, known for voicing her opinions fearlessly, took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out a user’s insensitive comment about virginity and marriage.

The incident unfolded on January 1, when an X user shared a tweet claiming that the increasing use of condoms in India, particularly via e-commerce platforms, meant that “virgin girls” would be difficult to find for marriage. The user wrote, “Blinkit CEO just posted that 1.2 lakh parcels of condoms were delivered last night, just for last night and just for Blinkit. Other e-commerce sites and market sales would be as high as 10 million. Good luck finding a virgin girl to marry in this generation.”

Chinmayi, who has a long history of being trolled for speaking out on various issues, reshared the now-deleted tweet, offering a sharp retort. “Then men shouldn’t have premarital sex with women. Unless said men are having sex with goats, dogs, and reptiles,” she quipped, confronting the sexist assumptions about virginity and gender double standards.

Recognising that her response could invite a wave of hate comments, Chinmayi restricted the comments on her post. However, this did not deter her. She later edited her post to further clarify her views, adding, “Women aren’t the ones obsessed with ‘VIRRRRRGIN.’ Women assume men have been sexually active anyway and don’t even dare to ask if you all have had safe or unsafe sex.”

She continued her criticism of the user’s perspective, remarking, “Anyway, it looks like the incel bros think they have permanently contaminated a woman once they have sex with her. Wherefore men must be some disease that women who deign to be intimate with never recover from, that other men are scared of.”

Chinmayi’s comments were a direct challenge to the toxic societal views that often shame women for their sexual choices while excusing men. Known for her unapologetic stances, Chinmayi Sripaada has continued to be a voice for progressive thought and gender equality.

A celebrated playback singer, Chinmayi has made her mark in the Indian music industry since her debut in 2006. Some of her popular tracks include “Mast Magan,” “Zehnaseeb,” and “Vizhigalile.” Aside from singing, she is also a well-regarded voice artist, having recently been dubbed for actresses such as Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Kushi, Trisha Krishnan in Leo, and Mrunal Thakur in Hi Nanna.
