South Indian veteran actor Chiranjeevi has achieved a new height in his professional journey. The actor’s name has recently been recorded in the Guinness World Records by recognizing his contribution to the industry. Let us tell you that Chiranjeevi is very famous not only in the South but also in the Hindi belt. The actor has also worked in many Hindi films. And now his name has been recorded in the Guinness World Records for doing 24000 dance moves in 537 songs of his 156 films in 45 years.

Recently, while talking to Rajeev Masand for Aha’s special fireside chat at the ‘Indian Film Festival’ the actor opened up his choices of films. The actor told the time when he understood what kind of films he wanted to do. During the conversation, the actor said, “I am very fortunate that I was cast in a film even before completing the acting course from FTII. Before it was released, a veteran filmmaker like K. Balachander sir cast me in a film. Then a film was made with veterans like Bapu garu and K. Vishwanath garu. In the early stages of my career, I had the privilege of working with some of the best filmmakers. Also, I was honing my skills to entertain the audience through dance, action, and other things. They started liking me even more.’

This South Indian Superstar further revealed the kind of films his heart beats for. He said, ‘My fans, the general public, they want to see me in action, great dance and such things. However, my heart wanted me to do films with legends like K.B. Sir, Bharathiraja, K.V. garu, and Bapu garu. I was confused.’ Chiranjeevi further said, ‘Let’s talk about 1983. ‘Khaidi’, which gave me star status, had a serious character and great dance sequences. The next week, I did ‘Mantri Gari Veyankudu’ directed by Bapu garu. It was a naughty character and it was also a big success.’

The actor believes that K Balachander’s ‘Rudraveena’ was a milestone in his career. He said, ‘With the passage of time, I understood that work satisfaction is not as important as getting the producers their money back. Take ‘Rudra Veena’, for example. It won the ‘Nargis Award’ for ‘Best Feature Film’ on National Integration, Best Music Direction for Ilaiyaraaja Sir, ‘Best Male Playback Singer’ for SP Balasubrahmanyam, and also won some state awards. As an actor too, I got critical acclaim, but, as a producer, it was a big failure. That’s not the situation I wanted. I also have a responsibility towards my producers. So, I slowly inclined towards commercial films.’
