Co-Creators of Superman Filed Copyright Lawsuit Against Warner Bros In US Court, Deets Inside
These days the things are not going well between the makers of superhero film Superman since the co-creators of this film has filed a copyright lawsuit in a US court against Warner Bros. It is being said that the controversy is related to part of a reboot of the DC Comics superhero film franchise. The suit was filed a few days back in federal court in New York City by the estate of Superman illustrator Joseph Shuster.

Let us tell you that Joseph is the same person who created the famous superhero with writer Jerome Siegel. The lawsuit states that Shuster and Siegel assigned their rights to the character to Detective Comics who is now a subsidiary of Warner. The lawsuit also claims that under British law Shuster’s rights reverted to his estate in the year 2017, 25 years after his death.

It is also being reported that the estate accused Warner of illegally failing to pay royalties for the use of Superman in Britain, Canada, Australia and other countries outside the United States without their approval. Let us tell you that the new Superman film, directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet, is scheduled to be released in theaters in July this year. The estate is seeking financial compensation and an injunction to prevent Warner Bros from using Superman without a license.
