Comedian Pranit More ‘Assaulted’ For Making Jokes On Veer Pahariya, Sky Force Actor Condemns Incident

Stand-up comedian Pranit More, who enjoys a solid following on social media, was recently assaulted by a group of men after his show in Kolhapur. The attackers, who initially pretended to be fans, confronted More under the guise of meeting him after the performance. According to a note shared by More’s team on social media, the assailants were angered by the comedian’s jokes regarding debutant actor Veer Pahariya.

The shocking attack has left the comedy community and fans in disbelief, especially considering More’s reputation for humour that often touches on a variety of topics, including public figures. In the wake of the incident, Pahariya, who is the grandson of former Maharashtra CM Sushil Kumar Shinde, has spoken out, clarifying that he had no involvement in the assault. Expressing his dismay, Pahariya took to Instagram to condemn the violence.

“I am truly shocked and saddened by what happened to comedian Pranit More,” Pahariya wrote in a heartfelt public statement. “I want to make it absolutely clear—I had no involvement in this, and I strongly condemn any form of violence.” He further emphasised his stance on trolling, explaining that as someone who has always faced online criticism with humour, he would never endorse harm against anyone, particularly someone in the same creative field. “To Pranit and his fans—I am deeply sorry that this happened. No one deserves this. I will personally ensure that whoever was responsible is held accountable,” Pahariya assured.

In response to the assault, More’s team has expressed concern over the comedian’s right to freedom of expression and pledged to take legal action. “We have lodged an online complaint from Mumbai. We sincerely urge the authorities to take immediate action and thoroughly investigate this matter so that such incidents do not happen again,” read the note shared by his team.
