Recently, a complaint was filed against the Animal actor “Ranbir Kapoor” and his family members for allegedly hurting religious sentiments during the Christmas celebrations. The complaint was filed on Wednesday at the Mumbai police station. The video has gone viral on social media.

The Allegation

The complaint was filed at the Ghatkopar police station by a person named Sanjay Tiwari.  In their complaint, lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra of the Bombay High Court have asked the court to press charges under IPC sections 295A, 298,500, and 34. As per the complaint, Ranbir Kapoor was pouring liquor on a cake and set it on fire while chanting “Jai Mata Di”. A lot of Hindus are hurt by this video and consider it offensive. Ashish Rai, the lawyer of the complainant.  But no FIR has been filed in the case by the police as yet.

Actually, the fire god is invoked before invoking other deities in Hinduism. But the Kapoor family deliberately used intoxicants while celebrating the festival of a religion other than Hinds. It hurts the complainant’s religious sentiments.

This Was The Legal Standpoint

As per the lawyer Ashish Rai, “We have filed a case with Ghatkopar police station and also had a meeting with them regarding the case after registering the case. The social act of Ranbir has hurt the sentiments of a lot of people. The reason was the use of alcohol for a ritual, and after that, the fire was lit, and he chanted “Jai Mata Di”. In fact, in Hinduism, fire is the symbol of the Jwaladevi goddess.
