While Reynolds was notably absent, his alter ego, Deadpool, made a surprise appearance, playfully taking centre stage during McElhenney’s acceptance speech.

Referring to Reynolds as “Mr. Lively,” a playful nod to his wife Blake Lively, Deadpool quirkily declared, “Mr. Lively couldn’t be here to accept this broken Emmy, so he sent me on his behalf.”
