Reacting to the incident, actress Urvashi Rautela expressed her concern for Saif during an interview with ANI. However, her comments sparked controversy. Urvashi stated, “It is very unfortunate. Now that “Daaku Maharaaj” has crossed ₹105 crore at the box office, my mother gifted me this diamond-studded Rolex, and my father gave me this mini watch for my finger. But we don’t feel confident wearing them openly due to insecurity. Whatever happened to Saif is very unfortunate.”
Backlash Against Urvashi
Urvashi’s remarks, particularly her mention of luxury items while addressing Saif’s attack, drew sharp criticism online. A video of the interview surfaced on social media, leading to widespread backlash. Many criticised the actress for being tone-deaf. A Reddit user commented, “She seems completely out of touch with reality.” Another remarked, “So she just advertised to potential robbers that she owns expensive jewellery.” Others labelled her “delusional” and “self-obsessed,” suggesting that her comments were inappropriate given the situation.

Meanwhile, Urvashi’s latest film, “Daaku Maharaaj”, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Bobby Deol, has been a box-office success. Directed by Bobby Kohli, the action thriller crossed ₹100 crore worldwide within four days of release, despite facing criticism for its controversial song “Dabidi Dibidi,” which also stars Urvashi. The movie includes notable performances by Shraddha Srinath and Prakash Raj.
