Demi Lovato: Former Disney Star Reportedly Overdoses
The international Pop-star, Demi Lovato has been open about her struggle with drugs abuse and at a recent concert she sang her new single Sober, a song that described her journey with the drugs. As she sang the song, her emotions were easy to see and as was the passion and pain in her voice. The 25-year-old star also, cancelled her show at London’s O2 arena last month, announcing the news only a few hours before the concert was set to begin.
It is reported that the singer, was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after a suspected drug abuse last night. The police department has said to have responded to an emergency overdose call around the area Lovato lived.
Sources claim that the former Disney star was found unconscious and was treated at the scene with Naloxone, an anti-overdose medicine. Later, it was reported that the singer was stable and alert at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, as reported by an US media report.
Her spokesperson commented, “She is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support.” Adding on, “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy.”
As the news spread on social media, within a few hours #PrayforDemi was trending on twitter. People all over the world wished and prayed for the quick recovery of the singer. Hollywood stars also took to twitter to show their support for the singer in her recovery.

In her Youtube documentary, Simple Complicated, the singer revealed that her drug use began at the tender age of 17, when she tried cocaine for the very first time. Lovato recalled feeling out of control when she had and being curious about it, as her dad was an addict & an alcoholic too.
Later in the year 2010, she finally went to rehab and tried to get the problem under control.
“I wasn’t ready to be sober”, the singer says in the documentary, “I was sneaking it on planes, in bathrooms and sneaking it all throughout the night.
Lovato, was reported to be sober for the past 6 years.
