Dhanush, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth End Nearly Two-Decade Marriage With Divorce Filing

After 18 years of marriage, it’s reported that Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have initiated divorce proceedings. Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, both accomplished individuals in the entertainment industry, are set to go their separate ways officially.

News has surfaced that the couple, who share two children named Yatra and Linga, have recently filed for divorce. Their union, spanning nearly two decades, has come to an end.

Both hailing from illustrious film families, Aishwaryaa is the daughter of megastar Rajinikanth, while Dhanush is the son of renowned Tamil filmmaker and producer Kasthuri Raja. The Raanjhanaa star’s brother, Selvaraghavan, is also a celebrated director in the South Indian film industry. The couple tied the knot in 2004 and are splitting up almost two decades later.

Ending 18 years of marriage

According to India Today’s source, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage. The couple announced their separation in 2022 via social media. As per the report, the couple has filed the petition under Section 13B – divorce by mutual consent. The case will be heard soon.

When announcing their separation, Dhanush wrote on his X handle, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couples, parents, and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please respect our decision and give us the privacy we need to deal with this. On the professional front, Dhanush was recently seen in “Captain Miller,” released on January 12, while Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth directed “Lal Salaam,” featuring Rajinikanth in a significant cameo, which premiered on February 9.
