According to the most recent reports, Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth have filed for divorce after two years of separation. Regretfully, they made their split publically known in January 2022 for reasons that are only known to themselves. Nevertheless, as they share parental responsibilities for their sons, Aishwaryaa and Dhanush have managed to keep a cordial relationship.

After two years of separation, it has been reported that Aishwarya Rajinikanth and her ex-husband Dhanush have finally agreed to have their divorce formalised. The famous couple has finally come to a joint conclusion and filed an official divorce case under section 13B at the Chennai family court, a source close to the pair told India Today. For those who don’t know, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa declared their split in 2022.

Millions of people were devastated on January 18, 2022, when Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth revealed their mutually agreed-upon decision to end their marriage and go their separate ways. Using their social media handles, the once-deeply in love pair posted similar picture quotes about a significant life decision. After 18 years of marriage, they announced their divorce by saying: 

“18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting… Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.”

Reports dismissing the possibility of Aishwarya and Dhanush choosing for reconciliation

Earlier, a story from the Hindustan Times denied rumours that Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth were attempting to work things out and get back together. Rather, a couple-close insider told the news outlet that the actor wasn’t making an effort to reconcile with his ex-wife. The insider further said that the two of them have drifted far apart from one another and have each found serenity in their own lives.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth made a rare remark on her ex-husband, Dhanush, during an earlier interview with music composer Anirudh Ravichander. It all started when the director mentioned how much her ex-husband had contributed to the development of the music composer’s career. According to her:

“I am happy that he has become one of the most sought-after music directors. However, his entry into the film industry has no connection with me. He is my cousin but his musical talents were recognised by Dhanush. He encouraged him to compose the songs of 3. His entry into the cinema industry was fully because of Dhanush.”
