Did Akshay Kumar Back Out Of The Sequels To These Films? Find Out!

In the last two weeks, several rounds have been made by producer Firoz Nadiadwala at actor Akshay Kumar’s office to discuss the possibility of making sequels to three comedy franchises: Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Awara Pagal Deewana. As per the latest information, the talks have ended, as Akshay was not convinced about the quality and vision of the concept of the sequel.

What went wrong between Akshay Kumar and Firoz Nadiadwala?

The information states, “Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Awara Pagal Deewana were the three most loved franchises starring Akshay Kumar, and he was looking forward to making these iconic films again. However, after several rounds of meetings, he decided to back out, as he could not keep pace with the wider script ideas.” The information further added: “Akshay Kumar is well aware of the expectations of his fans in these comedy franchises. He refuses to compromise on the quality of these scripts, as attempts to remake sequels to these films without thinking and with other actors have already failed.”

For the inattentive: “Hera Pheri 3” was announced early last decade, starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. The film went on floors, and after shooting for more than a month, it got stalled midway due to various reasons. Whereas, a sequel to “Welcome” was also attempted in 2015 as “Welcome Back,” starring John Abraham, but this film didn’t even come close to the original film.

Akshay also backed out from “Awara Pagal Deewana” and “Welcome”

The related report stated, “Akshay Kumar already has a busy calendar and is choosing his future scripts very carefully. He may opt for a new and fresh comedy script instead of riding on the popularity of the previous franchise with a half-scripted script.” It is being said that Nadiadwala is now approaching other actors to run the films. It further said: “He is now making it with a young actor, and talks are on with several directors to take the franchise forward somehow.”
