Bollywood star Rani Mukerji is one of the top names in the film industry. She has been here or over 25 years. With the Bengali film Biyer Phool, she made her acting debut in 1996. Later with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, she made her Hindi film debut. The actress recently revealed that she was not interested in joining films as a youngster. She explained that though she comes from a film family, her parents never talked about the business at home.

The actress is returning after two years with a new film Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway this month. In the drama based on real-life events, Rani plays an Indian woman living in Norway. Her young children are taken away from her because she is deemed an unfit mother. When she was young, her mother convinced her to become an actress.

Rani later realized that her family’s financial situation was not very good at that time. By working she would help them improve their situation. She added that when she grew up, an offer came to her. Rani’s mom very politely told me to try it, if it doesn’t work for her, she can go back to her studies.

She said that the kind of lifestyle that her parents tried to give her as well as her brother, was quite comfortable. She is glad that she did because she is really in love with her acting profession now. When she was growing up, she first thought of becoming a lawyer or an interior designer. The actress’s up-and-coming film Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway stars Neena Gupta, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Jim Sarbh.
