Digital Age Is Here: Parents Come Up With Fun Ideas to Make Their Kids Attend Online Classes

For ages, Kids try to find reasons to run away from their classes. They make several excuses to skip school and classes and now because of the ongoing pandemic, the education system has totally transformed into an online platform. Classes are being conducted online and as per the Indian parents, it is getting really difficult for them to make their children sit and attend the classes sincerely. They are suffering a lot.

Recently, according to a News18 report, an IPS Officer Monika Bhardwaj who was struggling with the same concern took to Twitter for suggestions on how to get her kid to sit through online classes.

Her tweet read, “For parents of very young children, #OnlineClasses are probably taking a toll on mental peace now. Any suggestions on how the kids can be made to sit for the classes? PS: Despite not liking it, I have already tried inducement.”

Twitter users came up with some shocking and funny resolutions for the problem. Here’s a look at the best of them

A user by the name of Pramod Kumar Singh tweeted, “We have been using all our convincing skills and inducement to make our 4 years old to sit for her classes. After classes, she asks for Masha & Bear & Simba.”

Another user came up with the idea of making small groups of children so that they can motivate each other to study. He tweeted, “If you live in a closed housing society, chances are many children study in the same school. Make a cohort of 5-6 students of the same class. Make one of your homes/flats a classroom for a week or fortnight (two sets of parents there for monitoring). Do this on a rotational basis.”

“You have to spend some recreation time with them. Go for walks, play games together. Anything that allows them to sweat and get tired. Anything to do with the outdoor is best. Fishing, camping out, biking with friends but all must be supervised by parents. Do a schedule. Hv fun. Then after all these outdoor activities, they have very little energy left to play and they are going to settle in. Do homework together. They must know you are watching and if they still have a problem take away what’s most valuable to them. No gaming on electronic” wrote some other user.

A user by the name of Vijeta Aggarwal urged parents to appreciate their children instead of using inducement as a means to make them sit for classes. He tweeted, “Appreciation should be used instead of inducement. Children love to get appreciated. Means appreciate them for learning new things. Then they will come to tell u what new they learned in the class. Listen to them patiently and appreciate them. This will motivate them to be curious for new learnings so that they can impress u.”

A suggestion to connect classes to a large screen came up from a user named Deepak. He wrote, “Not sure if everyone can try this but I suggest 1. Connect the classes to the TV in the house so that no other program runs in the house while they attend. 2. Give nimbu pani or any juice before the class so that they don’t feel sleepy at all. 3. Serve a pompous meal later 2slp.”

A user talked by giving children different kinds of rewards as a bribe. The user tweeted“1st, teach kids on how to use PC/laptop, make them experts. 2nd, allow them to play video games after online class as a reward. Monitor their videogame addiction too. 3rd, Ask the teacher to call their names online to interact for a week & encourage them to read, answer, feel dey ar important.”

Another user emphasized the importance of having proper food and adequate sleep before attending the classes.

Seems like online classes have taken the parental duties to a new high.
