Dilip Kumar Discharged From Hospital On June 10

Dilip Kumar was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital on Sunday (June 6) after he complained of breathlessness. His condition has stabilised now and according to the latest update from the doctors, the 98-year-old is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Thursday, June 10. Earlier, the actor was admitted to the hospital in May for routine check-up.

Senior doctors have been monitoring Dilip Kumar’s health condition round-the-clock at the hospital. Now, they are optimistic about sending him home. Sharing the latest health update from Dilip Kumar’s Twitter account, his family friend Faisal Farooqui wrote, “Update: Thank you for your prayers. A successful pleural aspiration procedure was performed on Dilip Saab. I personally spoke to Dr. Jalil Parkar and Dr. Nitin Gokhale. They are optimistic that he will be discharged tomm (Thursday).”

In the morning of June 6, the official Twitter handle of Dilip Kumar shared the news of his hospitalisation. The tweet read, “Dilip Sahab has been admitted to non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He’s had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr Nitin Gokhale is attending to him. Please keep Sahab in your prayers and please stay safe.

Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist treating the actor at the suburban hospital provided an update regarding Kumar’s health and said, “Dilip Kumar’s health is improving and the problem of breathlessness has also subdued, but he continues to be on oxygen support.” Earlier on Sunday, Dr Parkar had affirmed that the actor’s condition is stable now and said, “His condition is stable now. Even though he is in the ICU, he is not on a ventilator. We are trying our best that he makes a quick recovery and goes back home.”

After Dilip Kumar’s hospitalization, Saira Banu had taken to his Twitter handle to request fans to not believe in any rumours spread about him on WhatsApp or social media. The tweet read, “Don’t believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your heart-felt duas and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days. Insh’Allah.” A latest picture of Dilip Saab and Saira Banu had also made its way to social media.

Dilip Kumar has had an illustrious career in Bollywood with film credits such as ‘Devdas ‘(1955), ‘Naya Daur’ (1957), ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ (1960), ‘Ganga Jamuna’ (1961), ‘Kranti’ (1981), ‘Karma’ (1986) and others to his credit. He remains an inspiration to many established and budding actors in Bollywood.
