Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has carved a niche in the industry. But before making it big in the showbiz, she has struggled a lot. In a recent interview, the actress shared an incident related to casting couch. She told how she once narrowly escaped being a victim of it when a director had asked her to meet him in the hotel room.
In an interview given to Humans of Bombay, Vidya said that she is lucky as she has never faced casting couch. She has heard horror stories about it and this was her parents’ biggest fear. But an incident happened with her.
Recalling the same, the actress said that once a director in Chennai insisted on meeting her in the hotel room in connection with a film. She was going to the location for the shooting of an ad film. Vidya stated, “One day I remember that I was in Chennai and a director came to meet me. I told him that let’s sit in the coffee shop. But he started insisting that we should move into a room. I didn’t understand because I was alone. However, I acted wisely. When we went inside the room, I left the door open. He then knew he had only one option and that was to get out of the room. Then he left within five minutes. So, I really don’t believe that I had a casting couch experience.” After this, the actress laughed out loud and told that she was thrown out of that film.
Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Neeyat’ these days. It also stars Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma and Nikki Walia. The film is going to release on July 7, 2023.
