Disha Patani’s Sister Khushboo Faces Backlash For Self-Defense Video After Home Firing

Just days after a shocking firing incident at her family’s residence in Bareilly, Disha Patani’s sister Khushboo Patani posted a self-defense video on Instagram. The clip, in which she demonstrated how to use everyday items for protection, has triggered a wave of mixed reactions online.

On Sunday, Khushboo shared the video with the caption, “MERA DESH, MERI ZIMMEDARI” (My country, my responsibility). In the clip, she demonstrated how a data cable and screw nuts could be used as a makeshift weapon. She stated that in today’s world, you never know what might happen, “whether you’re a public figure or not, it doesn’t matter.” She urged viewers to always carry something for self-defense, noting that if one does not have a license for a weapon, a cable could serve as an alternative.

The post garnered both praise and criticism. Supporters wrote comments like, “True warrior spirit” and “More power to you,” while others criticized the timing of the video. One user commented, “But the bullet has already been fired,” and another wrote, “Ur data cable will not help when the other guy is firing guns.”

The video comes just after shots were fired outside her family’s home in Bareilly in the early hours of Friday. Jagdish Patani, a retired police officer and Disha and Khushboo’s father, told news agency ANI that two unidentified assailants on a motorbike fired 8-10 rounds at his home. He mentioned that he saw an unverified claim on social media that Goldy Brar had taken responsibility for the attack.

Jagdish Patani also clarified that the incident had been wrongly linked to a prior controversy involving Khushboo. He stated that his elder daughter’s earlier comments had been “misrepresented” and that her statement was incorrectly associated with a spiritual leader.
