Jennifer Lopez revealed in an interview that she and Ben Affleck are suffering from PTSD because of the media scrutiny of their first relationship. The singer popstar is ready to launch her new studio album This Is Me…Now in February next year, marking the 20th anniversary of This Is Me…Then (2002).

In a recent interview, Jennifer Lopez confessed to suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with husband Ben Affleck. The singer opened up about the tough time the couple had to pass through the blizzard of media scrutiny of their early relationship.
“But we’re older now. We’re wiser. We also know what’s important, what’s really important in life, and it’s not so much what other people think. It’s about being true to who you are.” The Jenny From The Block singer told Variety on December 20th.
When she said they both ‘have PTSD now’, she was referring to the intense and microscopic scrutiny by media during their first romance in the early 2000s.
The 54-year-old singer is ready to launch her new album This Is Me…Now next year on February 16th along with an accompanying film. JLo admits that not everyone agreed that she shares the history of their whirlwind romance.
“As artists, we have to follow our heart and this is me following my heart and doing something that maybe everybody didn’t think was the best idea, but I had to do it.” She further added in the interview.

The romantic saga of Lopez and Affleck has certainly stood the test of time.
Lopez and Affleck met in the early 2000s during their first movie Gigli (2003). They paired once again for Jersey Girl next year. By that time, their romance was catching attention. They were often referred to as Bennifer.
They soon got engaged but had to call their wedding off in 2003. Affleck then got married to Jennifer Garner and now shares 3 children. Lopez proudly owned the title of motherhood with the twins Emme and Max with her ex Marc Anthony.
The undue magic happened two decades later when Lopez and Affleck found a way to each other in 2021 and got married in Las Vegas in 2022.
Lopez’s new album includes the track Can’t Get Enough which she had sung on their wedding.

When asked whether she would be paired with husband Ben Affleck, the singer beamed.
“We love being together and working together. So, yeah, you never know.”
At the time of launching her 3rd studio album, This Is Me…Now, Lopez will also be launching an accompanying film. She labelled it as a ‘musical experience’.
“You have to see it, and you’ll have to experience it to understand it. That’s why I call it a musical experience. Because there is music, you can see it, you can hear it, and then, you’ll get to live it,” said the Shotgun Wedding star.
JLo’s This Is Me…Now (2024) is a succession of This Is Me…Then (2002).

“I do love her music’ it’s brilliant and I know it all. The songs that have been written about me have been written by the greatest performer in the world – Jennifer Lopez. I don’t know if they are exactly about me, as maybe inspired by me because there are some negative things in there. She’s amazing!”
