Fans loved the movie ‘Airlift’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Nimrit Kaur in the lead roles. The film was released in the year 2016 and did good business at the box office. Recently Nikhil Advani attended an interview and made several revelations about late actor Irrfan Khan. During the conversation Nikhil said about Irrfan Khan that he wanted to cast Irrfan Khan in this movie, however Irrfan Khan himself suggested him to do the movie with Akshay.

It is being said that the late actor Irrfan Khan believed that if he did the movie with Akshay Kumar, he could get a bigger budget. Irrfan Khan talked to Nikhil Advani about the movie and suggested several other things to him as well. In a conversation with one of the media houses, Nikhil told that Airlift director Raja Menon wanted to cast Irrfan Khan. He had a meeting with Irrfan Khan. On this, Irrfan Khan said, ‘Boss don’t do this movie with me. This is a great movie but don’t do it with me because you won’t get the budget. Go to Akshay. You know Akshay.’

After hearing about Airlift, Akshay Kumar worked with Raja in many workshops. Talking about the film, Nikhil further told, ‘I went to Akshay, he said the movie is rubbish this is not a good plot and you should look for something else, some topic that can work for you and must be liked by people. After this I talked to him about Airlift and told him that Irrfan has refused to do this film. On this Akshay said that then why have you come to me.’

Nikhil further said, ‘I told him, you cannot do it because this is a very serious film, you will also have to remember its lines. After this Raja Menon did a lot of workshops. I said that Raja does not want to work with you, even after this Akshay did this film.’ Let us tell you that it was based on the incident of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in August 1990. Akshay Kumar played the role of a businessman in it, who was working for more than 1,70,000 countrymen.
