October is marked as the month of Breast Cancer Awareness. Many women silently suffer from Breast Cancer and being a woman in itself puts them at a higher risk of developing it with rising age. Dr Mahima Bakshi walked the ramp for a cause to support awareness on Breast Cancer at the ‘Couture Runway Week’ that was held on 17th October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Delhi. She walked for the cause in a beautiful Pink Gown designed by Designer ‘Cindy Pers Pret & Couture’ from Mumbai.
Dr Mahima Bakshi has been promoting awareness on Natural Birthing, Breastfeeding and Breast Care in India through her platform Birthing Naturally. She has always empowered women to take care of their health specially during pregnancy, breastfeeding and menopause. She has also been felicitated by WCD Minister Smt Smriti Irani in the past for her contribution towards Women’s Health.
“Events like fashion weeks are a great platform to connect with women where fashion plays a huge role in conveying a message to the society. I wanted to walk in a Pink Outfit at the Fashion Week to support the cause and utilize the month of October which is also known as Pinktober to promote awareness on Breast Cancer. I am hoping that we would be able to make more women be aware of ‘ Breast Cancer ‘ so that they can detect it early and seek help on time to cure it fully,” says Dr Mahima Bakshi.
“I was very happy to associate myself with the cause. As I got to know that Dr Mahima Bakshi would be walking the ramp for the cause, I decided to make her wear my Pink Gown to support the cause. I have always liked to associate myself with causes that support women. Hoping to see more such initiatives to be taken by more Fashion Weeks in India,” says Cindy Pers, Designer.
