Sita Ramam wins Best Film – Jury

Dulquer Salman, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sita Ramam directed by Hanu Raghavapudi won the Best Film – Jury of the year award. The movie was already a box office success and one of the highest grossing Telugu films of the year. Audience loved Dulquer’s and Mrunal’s chemistry on screen.The songs also added to the success of this period romantic film. Sita Ramam is a story of an army lieutenant Ram who receives letters from a mystery woman Sita and how love blossoms when they meet.

The movie which was earlier released only in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam in Aug 2022 was later released in Hindi as well by Sep 2022. Sharing the news of the award, the production house, Vyjayanthi movies posted, ” We are grateful to the Jury of the 13th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival for acknowledging our #SitaRamam as the Best Film – Jury of the year 2023.

Among the others who were honoured at the 13th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival were debutante director Kiranraj K for his Kannada movie ‘777 Charlie’. Bheems Ceciroleo won the Best Music Director award for his Telugu movie ‘Balagam’. The political action thriller Malayalam film ‘Padavettu’ received the Honourable Jury Mention. Excel Entertainment founded by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani won the award for the Best Production House. Their film Phone Bhooth received an award for the Best VFX and Sharmaji Namkeen received a special mention.
