Ektaa Kapoor, the renowned Indian producer, has recently found herself swirling rumours regarding her alleged plans to welcome a second child via surrogacy. Reports surfaced, suggesting that Kapoor, already a mother to her 5-year-old son Ravie born through surrogacy in 2019, was preparing to expand her family in response to her son’s desire for a sibling.
These reports even purportedly received support from Kapoor’s parents, Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor.
This isn’t the first time Kapoor has faced speculation regarding her personal life. In 2019, she made headlines when she welcomed Ravie into the world through surrogacy.
Yet, Kapoor’s achievements extend far beyond her personal life. In 2023, she etched her name in history by clinching the prestigious Directorate Award at the International Emmy Awards. She became India’s first female filmmaker to achieve this milestone.

However, a close insider swiftly debunked these claims, labelling them as “false”. They wanted to admonish the spread of misinformation for the sake of online engagement. Speaking to E-Times, the source emphasized the necessity for fact-checking before publication, asserting that such unfounded rumours are both unacceptable and laughable.

Reflecting on her groundbreaking win, Kapoor underscored the challenges faced by women in the Indian film industry, emphasizing the need to shatter gender biases and stereotypes.
She commended her female contemporaries, including Zoya Akhtar, Meghna Gulzar, Gul Khan, and key figures in the OTT space like Aparna Purohit and Monica Shergill, for spearheading change and redefining Indian content.
Contribution of Women in Indian Cinema
In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Kapoor celebrated the strides made by women in the industry. She said,” Women in Indian art, media, OTT, television, and films have been usually marginalised”.
According to Ekta, various unspoken rules have been broken by female makers. Ekta acknowledged the transformative impact of their collective efforts.
