‘Enough To Spend 5 Years’: Mika Singh Reveals Exorbitant Pay For Ambani Wedding Performance
Singer Mika Singh recently shared his experience of performing at the extravagant wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant earlier this year. While the celebrated singer acknowledged being handsomely compensated for his performance, he humorously expressed disappointment over missing out on an exclusive gift—a luxury watch reportedly presented to select close friends and entertainment industry personalities.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Mika joked about the missing timepiece. “I went to perform at Anant Ambani’s wedding. He distributed a lot of money to everyone, even to me. But I am angry about one thing: I did not get the watch that all the other close people got,” he quipped.
The Ambanis are believed to have gifted limited-edition Audemars Piguet luxury watches worth over Rs 2 crore to a select few, including Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh. Mika Singh playfully sent a message to Anant Ambani, whom he referred to as his “brother,” hinting that he wouldn’t mind receiving the coveted gift even now.
A Fee to Remember
While Mika refrained from disclosing the exact amount he earned for his performance, he hinted at its enormity. “I was paid a lot of fees. I cannot tell you how much, but if you want to guess, I can say that I got so much money that I could easily spend five years with it. I don’t have many special expenses, so it’s sufficient for that,” he revealed.
The Changing Face of Wedding Performances
Reflecting on the evolving perception of singing at weddings, Mika noted how private events have become a significant revenue stream for artists. “When we two brothers [Mika and Daler Mehndi] used to sing at weddings, people looked down on it. Now, I see that everyone is performing at weddings. It’s no longer about big shows; most of the earnings now come from wedding performances,” he observed.
A Star-Studded Affair
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding was a spectacle spread across months and continents. The Ambanis left no stone unturned, organizing lavish celebrations, inviting global celebrities, and showering guests with extravagant gifts. The wedding, which featured high-profile performances, remains one of the most talked-about events of the year.
