Actress Richa Chadha, a “Bholi Punjaban” in Bollywood, and her actor partner Ali Fazal are planning to get married in September 2022. Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are the most adored pair in B-town. There have been rumours of the two getting married ever since they began dating. But for whatever reason, the couple had to repeatedly put off their wedding. The lovebirds of the glamour world are reportedly ready to take the leap as of late.
For the uninitiated, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal became friends while working on the set of the movie Fukrey. There have been rumours that the two are dating, but it was obvious when Richa broke up with her ex-boyfriend Franck Gastambide that she had discovered genuine love in Ali. The same was confirmed in 2017 at the Venice Film Festival, when Ali’s movie Victoria and Abdul was showing and Richa had travelled great distances to be at his side.
Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have been excitedly anticipating their nuptials for a while now. However, the pandemic forced a postponement. And now, according to several rumours, the couple will wed in September 2022. Additionally, it is said that Ali and Richa would hold separate ceremonies for their marriage in Delhi and Mumbai.
Earlier, Richa Chadha discussed her upcoming nuptials to Ali Fazal in an interview with Mashable India, revealing that the two have been talking about getting married since 2020. Richa described how after she and Ali met, several couples got engaged and later got married.
“Whenever we think of getting married a new (Covid-19) variant comes. In 2020, we had booked places also but the first wave came, followed by lockdown and destruction. Last year again, in February, we had confidence and talks started. The second wave experience was the worst in India. Quite sad. Jo log humse baad mein mile the, unki toh shaadi bhi hogayi. Baad mein dekhte hai kiski kitni tikti hai. Aisa kya hai, finish line pe milenge. We want to do it this year, we will make time, kuch na kuch karlenge.”
Ali Fazal requested that the media refrain from spreading untrue rumours regarding their wedding on his Twitter account on February 3, 2022. In a tweet, Ali had compared himself and his followers to the well-known characters from the movie Bunty Aur Babli:
“Arey bhailog, ek montage iss saari speculation ka banega. 2 saal se bunty -babli ke peechhe lagi shaadi polis. Khunnas mein karaadaali aadhi bollywood ki shaadi. lekin je dono pakad na aaye. but why? #karaakarheerahenge jk. Which is kinda sweet but hey, let us do our thing.”
