Tunisha Sharma is no longer with us. Tunisna’s funeral was held on December 27th. Everyone’s eyes welled up as they bid Tunisha, dressed in a red pair, farewell. However, Tunisha Sharma’s suicide case has raised many concerns about the safety of celebrities. In this situation, FWICE has decided to take significant steps.
What did the FWICE President have to say about Tunisha Sharma’s suicide?
According to BN Tiwari, President of FWICE (Federation of Western India Cineemployees), Tunisha Sharma’s accident is the first time an artist has taken this step on a set in the history of the entertainment industry. In this way, a bad trend has begun. This must be immediately halted. It is time for our Federation to think about this and make a decision.
The Federation is writing a letter to the producer body. As a result, such behaviour is discouraged. Consider that show: the hero has been arrested, the actress has left, and the set has been built. The shooting has ceased. The most expensive set ever made. What would have happened to the producer in such a situation? This must be considered. A producer has completed his work; how will he pay? There is no accounting of how much debt he will incur.
BN Tiwari raised concerns about the actress’ suicide.
See Federation used to go to the sets even before this, says BN Tiwari. I used to talk to the cast and crew to try to figure out what was going on. Today, that situation has changed; we have stopped coming here, and everyone is doing their own thing. What happened to Tunisha is tragic, but we must ensure that it does not happen again.Tiwari further said- There is not much space in the make-up room, how can one commit suicide. Tell me, with so many people on the set, how did they not notice anything? People are no longer cruel to one another.
Counsellors will remain on set.
Tiwari said: “In meetings with the producer, we constantly talked about how making money should not be his only goal. You should consider your team’s mental health. We formed a team during Meetu to eliminate sexual harassment on the sets. And this time, we’ll propose that every set have a counsellor. Children’s counselling is critical. Today’s children are given money unexpectedly and have no idea what to do with it. Every counsellor should be aware of the artist’s medical report. They should also be aware of the time constraints and stress of shooting on a regular basis. This Tunisha step has terrified us. How can work be done in such a tense environment?
Many labourers working on Ali Baba’s set have also contacted me. They are concerned about their prospects. On a single set, hundreds of people are employed. We will also speak with the Producers Association about what will happen to them. Because the future of the set and the show appears to be in doubt at the moment.
