Filmmaker Suneel Darshan Claims Sunny Deol Owes Him Rs. 77.25 Lakhs, ‘Never Intended To Pay’

Bollywood filmmaker Suneel Darshan is the force behind hit movies like ‘Talaash: The Hunt Begins’, ‘Barsaat’, and ‘Andaaz’. Though he is away from work for a long time, the director made it to headlines as he levelled some serious allegations against the actor of the hour, Sunny Deol. Suneel has accused the actor of not paying back his due money of Rs 77.25 lakh. He has said that it has been 27 years since he has been waiting for Sunny to return his money. Before this, the actor was alleged to owe dues worth Rs 56 crore to a bank.

Suneel’s shocking allegations against Sunny

The filmmaker stated that back in 1996, the actor wanted to start an international film distribution company and so, he sought the distribution rights of their film ‘Ajay’. Sunny asked Suneel to adjust his pending dues along with it. Since the duo had already done two films together, the director believed him.

Sunny reportedly convinced Suneel to get the money from London. He made a promise of paying back the amount once he receives the prints of the film from him. However, when the filmmaker reached out to the actor asking him to return his money, Sunny ignored him citing personal problems as the reason behind not being able to pay back the money.

Darshan claimed that he ran after Deol for four years. During that period, he had some hits as well as some flops. After multiple efforts, the director approached the court.

Furthermore, Suneel revealed that after their feud, Sunny promised to do a film with him and repay the money. But whenever they begin a movie, Sunny would ask for changes in the script or claim a lack of dates, thereby never completing the film. The filmmaker mentioned that the actor never intended to pay his money.

For the unversed, Sunny Deol has earned back the superstar tag with his latest blockbuster ‘Gadar 2’. The film is breaking several major records on the box office. Helmed by Anil Sharma, the movie also stars Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Simrat Kaur, and Luv Sinha.
