Follow These Monsoon Hair Care Tips To Reduce Hair Damage



Monsoon does bring joy but it also brings problems like hair fall, dandruff, frizzy hair, and skin problems. Due to excessive humidity, the probability of hair and skin problems increases.

Humidity causes frizzy hair and hair fall. The rainy season also causes bacterial and fungal infections that lead to itchy scalp and dandruff.

Its’ okay, You can handle your problems with care just by following these hair care tips.

(1)  Use oil-

Use coconut oil before you wash your hair. Massage your scalp lightly with fingertips.  This increases blood circulation and boosts nourishment.  Do not use too much oil and do not massage roughly, that can damage your hair and increase your hair fall.


(2) Keep your hair dry-

Keeping the scalp dry during the monsoon is necessary because your hair is weakest when wet. Avoid getting wet in rainwater. Use a soft towel to absorb water in case if you get wet. Rainwater is acidic and dirty. That can cause an imbalance in the pH of the scalp. Also, wet hair can increase the risk of fungal and bacterial infections.


(3) Have a balanced diet-

A proper and healthy diet is required to nourish your hair. Oily and junk food can increase your problems during monsoon so a maintained diet is necessary.

You should have food high in protein, iron, omega-3, fatty acids, vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K.

Things you can add to your diet- Eggs, dairy products, walnuts, green vegetables, sprouts, and fruits.


(4) Choose the right comb for your hair-

Humidity and rainwater can tangle your hair badly. Choose a wide-toothed comb to easily detangle your hair. Other combs can break your hair while detangling.


(5) Use a mild shampoo –

Use a chemical-free or mild shampoo to remove dirt, oil, and dandruff from your scalp. Choose sulfate-free shampoo. You can use a good anti-hair fall or anti-dandruff shampoo too.  Always condition your hair after the wash.

(6) Water Temperature  –

Do not use hot water or extremely cold water to wash your hair. This can cause dryness of the scalp and can damage your hair more.


(7) Use hair styling tools less-

Styling regularly can break your hair and can make them look rough or dry.


(8) Get a haircut –

You can get your hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks to remove the split ends or you can cut your hair short. Short hair will reduce hair fall and it requires less maintenance.
