Mumbai’s film city is such that after getting fame here, even big stars forget their roots. But, small screen superstar Devoleena Bhattacharjee has not forgotten her roots. Her acting in the Hindi film ‘Kooki’ made in Assam is being praised a lot. In a short meeting, we talked to her and during the discussion that took place during that time, she said, “For me, the type of character matters. The size of the screen does not matter to me…!” For Devoleena, a graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFD), acting was just like a dream.

She was studying fashion technology in Delhi after studying at Gurugram when a famous jewelry company offered her a job. She came to Mumbai only for this job, but the audition given by Bharatnatyam trained dancer Devoleena for ‘Dance India Dance 2’ got her the serial ‘Savare Sabke Sapne Preeto’. After this, she made a hat-trick in ‘Bigg Boss’. Gopi Bahu of ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ took her to every household in the country and she continuously scaled the seventh heaven of fame.

Devoleena was recently seen on the big screen in the film ‘Kooki’. As soon as the producer of this Hindi film made in Assam, Junmoni asked for Devoleena’s help, Devoleena, born in Shiv Sagar, Assam, immediately agreed. In this film, Devoleena was highly appreciated for her role as a journalist who makes the pain of a rape victim an issue to the world through her news program.

Last weekend, there were many talks on social media about Devoleena being pregnant. Devoleena’s only comment on this was that if something like this happens, it will not be something to hide at all. Talking about the small screen and the big screen, she says, “For an artist, the most important thing is that his character is strong, the shape and size of the screen does not matter to me.”
