‘Gadar 2’ Director Anil Sharma Calls Ameesha Patel ‘Weak Actor’: ‘Was Trained For 6 Months…’

Filmmaker Anil Sharma is currently enjoying the success of his latest blockbuster ‘Gadar 2’. While he shares a great bond with the lead actor Sunny Deol, his equation with female lead Ameesha Patel is a mix of differences and camaraderie. In a recent interview with a media portal, Anil opened up on his working experience with the actress.

Anil recalls how Ameesha got the part of Sakina

Anil Sharma described his bond with Ameesha Patel as more than just a colleague. He called her a “good person and a kind-hearted soul” who sometimes throw sparks with her attitude due to her rich family background. The director said that she might occasionally sound arrogant because of her upbringing but that is a part of her unique charm.

Furthermore, Anil reminisced how Ameesha was finalised to play Sakina in iconic hit ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. He told that initially, the actress lacked the finesse he was looking for. But he wanted a moon-like face which he found in her. The filmmaker then had a word with his producer Nitin Keni where he told him that Ameesha fits the bill as her personality is that of someone from a rich family and she carries a certain attitude required for the role.

Anil and Nitin made Ameesha go through six months of rigorous acting training- 4-5 hrs each day. She honed her skills according to the demands of her role as Sakina and the rest is history.

Let us tell you that Ameesha previously accused Anil of mismanagement during the filming of ‘Gadar 2′. However, the director did not take any offence in the actress’ statement. He brushed off the allegations in a light way.

For the unversed, ‘Gadar 2’ is shattering all records on the box office. It is a sequel to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ and sees Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel reprising their roles as Tara Singh and Sakina. The film is produced by Zee Studios.
