Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, opened to packed theatres on January 10 and has already surpassed the ₹100 crore mark within just five days. While the film has achieved massive box office success, director Shankar revealed his reservations about the final product, admitting he wasn’t “completely satisfied.”

In a candid conversation with Behindwoods TV, Shankar reflected on the challenges of filmmaking, stating, “This is a common problem with every filmmaker. No matter what you do, you’ll never feel completely satisfied. I feel I could have done better.”

The filmmaker also disclosed that the original runtime of Game Changer was a staggering five hours. To make the film more suitable for cinematic viewing, significant portions had to be trimmed. Explaining the creative dilemma, Shankar said, “Some good scenes and situations were removed during trimming. The total duration exceeded five hours. It’s like sculpting; if we leave it as it is, it’s just a marble.”

Amid the buzz around the film, lead actor Ram Charan took to social media to express his gratitude. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, he penned a heartfelt note to fans and the team behind Game Changer.

“This Sankranthi, my heart is filled with gratitude for making all the hard work we put into Game Changer truly worth it,” Ram Charan wrote. “My heartfelt appreciation goes to the entire cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who contributed to the film’s success.”

“Game Changer” marks Ram Charan’s first collaboration with Kiara Advani, with the ensemble cast featuring Samuthirakani, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Sunil, Anjali, and S. J. Suryah.

While the film’s trimmed narrative has been a point of contention for Shankar, the audience’s overwhelming response and its roaring success at the box office suggest that “Game Changer” has struck a chord with fans.
