‘Go And Live In Dubai, What Are You Doing Here’, Abhinav Kashyap Took A Dig At Shah Rukh Khan For His Wealth

Abhinav Kashyap, the filmmaker best known for directing the Salman Khan starrer Dabangg, has once again stirred controversy, this time by making sharp remarks against Shah Rukh Khan. After previously levelling allegations against Salman Khan, the director has now aimed his criticism at Bollywood’s King Khan, accusing him of being self-serving and disconnected from the struggles of the common man. In a recent interview, Abhinav Kashyap questioned Shah Rukh Khan’s connection with Indian society and took a jibe at the superstar’s properties.

Abhinav said, “This society only knows how to take, not give. They just take, take, and take. Shah Rukh Khan’s house in Dubai is called ‘Jannat,’ and the one here is called ‘Mannat.’ What does that mean? All your wishes are fulfilled here. He keeps praying for more. I heard he is building two more floors on his bungalow. If your heaven is in Dubai, then go and live there. What are you doing in India?”

Kashyap criticized Shah Rukh for allegedly being more interested in personal gain than in contributing to society, sparking backlash from fans and industry insiders alike. The director also mocked one of Shah Rukh Khan’s powerful dialogues from the 2023 blockbuster Jawan and said, “Then he says lines like, ‘Bete ko haath lagane se pehle, baap se baat kar.’ What can we even say to these people? They’ve built palaces that are out of reach for the common man. What do I care about their net worth? Do they feed me? Shah Rukh may be a great speaker, but his intentions are also corrupt.”

These remarks have ignited strong reactions online, with many accusing Abhinav of making provocative statements for attention amid his long absence from the industry. Let us tell you that Abhinav Kashyap, the younger brother of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, made a powerful debut in 2010 with Dabangg, which became Salman Khan’s first ₹100 crore hit. Before that, he had worked as a screenplay writer for the film Jung.
