Director Prashanth Varma of the mythological and superhero fantasy blend film HanuMan publicly apologized to actor Samuthirakani. He called the esteemed actor’s contribution significant for the film’s success and acknowledged oversight in recognising this. The movie, primarily shot in the Telugu language, is also available in its Hindi version.
The subject of the film, which blends Hindu mythology and science fiction, is well-received by the audience.

Released this Makar Sankranthi, HanuMan went on to break box office records within a short time. Experts called its remarkable success akin to that of epic period dramas and pan-India movies in Telugu like Bahubali and RRR. This blockbuster also became the highest-grossing Tollywood film released this year.
It competed with the likes of Guntur Kaaram starring Mahesh Babu, Na Saamiranga starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Saindhav starring Venkatesh Daggubati. Furthermore, it is also the eighth highest-grosser globally, among Telugu films. Teja Sajja is the male lead opposite Amritha Aiyer, while the other stellar cast includes Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Vinay Rai, who plays the antagonist.

The versatile and senior actor Samuthirakani was not given much to use the pre-release functions related to the film. Fans, after watching the movie, went gaga over his performance in the pivotal role of Vibhishana. This is such an oversight on the part of the production team and promotional event organizers.
