A representative of Chris Pine denies the incident, calling such claims “ridiculous.” Following the world premiere of Olivia Wilde’s “Don’t Worry, Darling” at the Venice Film Festival, videos taken inside the theatre showed Styles spitting on Pine, though the act could not be confirmed 100%.

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, a Chris Pine representative denies rumours of a feud between the actor and his Don’t Worry Darling co-star. “A total fabrication -This is a ridiculous story based on an odd online illusion on the internet that is clearly misleading and gives rise to foolish speculation.”

“Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine,” according to a representative, and “these two men and have only respect for one another, such advice to the contrary is ridiculous is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to generate controversy that simply isn’t correct.

Video of Harry Styles appearing to spit on Chris Pine during the Don’t Worry Darling premiere has gone viral. The video appears to have been taken while the cast was taking their seats at the 2022 Venice Film Festival’s premiere event on September 5. It shows Pine, who is already seated beside Olivia, watching as Harry approaches the seat beside him.
