Has “Wonder Woman 3” Been Cancelled By DC Studios After The Director Walked Off? Find Out!
As per the latest information, DC’s iconic female superhero, Wonder Woman, is not going to be developed with the next installment. Recent reports say that DC Studios is all set to scrap the upcoming threequel from the “Wonder Woman” franchise. However, recent reports have now also stated the reason behind the cancellation of “Wonder Woman” under its new management.
Apparent exit by Patty Jenkins
According to reports, it is being said that Patty Jenkins, who directed the first two parts of the superhero series, walked off the project after rejecting studio notes on her treatment. The apparent departure of Jenkins comes after James Gunn and Peter Safran recently settled into their new roles as co-CEOs of DC Films. Reports also states that the studio hasn’t completely scrapped the Wonder Woman franchise and that Gal Gadot is still attached to the role at this point.
Recent statement by James Gunn
Amidst all the speculation about upcoming DC projects, James Gunn took to social media to share a note where he said: “Peter and I chose DC Studios after knowing that we were coming into a horrifying environment, and there will be an inevitable transitional period, both in the stories themselves and in the audience, as we move to coherent storytelling across film, TV, animation, and gaming. But, in the end, the drawbacks of that transitional period were dwarfed by the creative possibilities and opportunities at DC to build on what’s worked so far and help improve what it hasn’t.”
The filmmaker further added: “We’re not going to please every single person every step of the way, but we can promise that everything we do is done in service of the story and in service of the DC characters, which we know you cherish and which we have cherished our entire lives.” Moreover, as of now, the slated list of releases for Warner Bros. and DC includes four major films for 2023: Shazam: Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
