Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty has made a name in the industry. He has won hearts with his phenomenal acting skills multiple times. But there was a time when Mithun faced a downfall in his career and this led him to take up some B-grade projects. In a recent interview, the son of the actor, Mimoh Chakraborty opened up on the time when his dad Mithun did numerous low-quality films.
Mimoh heaps praises on Mithun
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Mimoh was asked if Mithun ever regretted doing the low standard films or inviting producers to shoot in his Ooty hotel. To this, the actor defended his father opting to work in ‘B-grade films’ during his younger days in the film industry. He never had any qualms. Mimoh told that his father did it for his family and for his hotel as they needed money. He shared that many Bollywood and South movie units would stay at their hotel, so there was a good influx. The actor told that even today, his dad is doing Dance Bangla Dance and Dance India Dance for the survival of his family.
Appreciating his father’s efforts, Mimoh shared that his mother has seen the bad phase of his dad more than him. When he was a kid, his dad was a superstar. Mimoh’s mother would tell him that whenever Mithun delivered a flop, he would go into depression. He was juggling between four shifts in a day, spending two hours each on each set.
Mimoh’s career
Mimoh forayed into Bollywood with the film Jimmy. His debut film failed to leave a mark. Soon after, Mimoh starred in Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted – 3D which earned him fame. Mimoh has worked in films like Rocky, Loot, Enemmy and Main Mulayam Singh Yadav. He appeared last in Jogira Sara Ra Ra alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma.
For the unversed, Mimoh Chakraborty is the elder son of Mithun Chakraborty and Yogita Bali. He has two other siblings- Dishani Chakraborty and Namashi Chakraborty.
