Shatrughan shared the story in his autobiography

Shatrughan has talked about the story of the film Kala Patthar in his autobiography. According to him, Amitabh had beaten him during the shooting of this film.

Shatrughan told that in the 70s, he was liked more than Amitabh in Bollywood. Amitabh and his onscreen pairing was said to be a superhit, resulting in many blockbuster films. But after that he did not want to work with him, as he felt that Shatrughan was getting the fame he should have.

Shatrughan revealed that Amitabh had hit him badly in a scene during the shooting of Kala Patthar. He was continuously beating him and the people present there could not understand anything. Shashi Kapoor somehow saved him that day.

Shatrughan faced discrimination

Shatrughan claimed that he was never offered a chair next to Amitabh on the sets of Kala Patthar after this incident. Apart from this, even his umbrella was not shared with him. They were both in the same hotel. But despite this, Amitabh did not take him in his car.
