After this act of Akshay Kumar, former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani has also strongly condemned him. He said that an actor with a clean image is promoting a cancerous product.

Pahlaj Nihalani has targeted Akshay Kumar after speaking ‘Jubaan Kesari’ on TV. He said- “I firmly believe that where Akshay Kumar tells a common man to spend money on sanitary pads instead of smoking cigarettes, he should be removed from films from now on. The government should seriously consider this matter. On one hand, a well-known superstar is asking the public not to spend on cigarettes. On the other hand, the same actor is also advising to eat pan masala. All this is very confusing for the public.”

Pahlaj Nihalani compared South Indian actors to Bollywood actors. He praised South Indian actors and said the South has temples for stars like Rajinikanth, Vijay and Khushboo. He said- “When Yash’s KGF 2 was released in Mumbai, the fans bathed his cutout with milk and made a huge picture of him from about 20 thousand books in Karnataka. Have you ever heard any Bollywood actor being honored like this.” He said that Bollywood actors can never achieve the status that South actors belong.

Pahlaj doesn’t want to single out Akshay Kumar only for special condemnation. He said- “Akshay is an actor with a clean image, the public sees him as a hero, so why is he using a product promoting a disease like cancer?” He said that not only Akshay but Govinda and Pierce Brosnan are also promoting these things. He also told that the promotion of liquor and paan-masala is illegal and unconstitutional.
