In a throwback interview, Sonakshi disclosed that her mother constantly urged her to get married, but her father, Shatrughan Sinha, did not want her to ever marry.

In a 2021 interview with Bollywood Hungama, the “Heeramandi” actress said: “If it were up to him (Shatrughan Sinha), he would never want me to get married. My mom sometimes drops little bombs saying, ‘It’s time now, you should get married,’ and when I give her a look, she says, ‘Okay, okay.'”

In the same interview, Sonakshi stated that she wasn’t ready for marriage at that time and felt blessed to have supportive parents.

She said: “I’m glad they have given me the freedom that until I’m ready, they won’t force me to marry.”

Currently, Sonakshi is set to marry Zaheer Iqbal on June 23. The wedding will take place at the Bastin Restaurant in Mumbai, with many renowned Bollywood stars in attendance.
