Both of them have inspired millions and crores of couples through their cute chemistry. Shahrukh and Gauri tied the knot on 25 October 1991. But it is also true that Shah Rukh Khan had to make a lot of papads to make Gauri Khan his Begum. The first night of both was ruined because of actress Hema Malini and Shahrukh Khan himself has also revealed this in an interview.

Shahrukh Khan started his Bollywood career only when he married Gauri. These days the actor was shooting for the film ‘Dil Aashna Hai’. For this reason, soon after marriage, he came to Mumbai with his wife Gauri. During this, Shahrukh Khan did not have a house to live in, that is why he went to a hotel with Gauri. Here actor Aziz Mirza had booked a room for Shahrukh and Gauri. Hema Malini was the director of the film ‘Dil Aashna Hai’. It is said that after reaching the hotel with Gauri, Shah Rukh Khan was the first to call Hema Malini. During this, the actor told Hema that he had returned to Mumbai. But as soon as Hema came to know about Shahrukh’s arrival, the actress called Shahrukh on the sets to meet him and even Shah Rukh could not convince Hema Malini. For this reason, Shahrukh Khan had to leave his honeymoon and go to meet Hema Malini. During this, Shahrukh also took Gauri along with him on the set.

However, Hema Malini was not on the sets. In such a situation, Shahrukh Khan made Gauri sit in the make-up room and himself went to shoot. Both reached the set at around 11 pm and went to shoot Shahrukh at 2 pm. It is said that Gauri had come here wearing a sari, heavy jewellery, and bangles, and in the room where Gauri was made to sit, there were many mosquitoes, which had bitten Gauri and made her condition worse. Seeing all this, Shahrukh Khan became emotional and his eyes were filled with tears.

Recalling this whole incident in an interview, Shahrukh Khan had said, ‘I cried a lot on my decision that day. I felt that day was humiliating for me and Gauri. It was Gauri’s honeymoon, which was cut off while waiting for someone in a shoddy mosquito-filled room. In this interview, Shahrukh had also told me that, when I came after completing the shooting, Gauri did not say anything to me.
