Hera Pheri, a cult comedy, has a special place in the minds of audiences. Fans are looking for a fresh sequel to this film. Actor Paresh Rawal recently spoke about the Hera Pheri sequel, and this is what he said. Paresh Rawal has won hearts with his outstanding performance in Priyadarshan’s film Hera Pheri as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte or Babu Bhaiya.
Paresh, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty’s on-screen chemistry kept the audience glued to the screen. Hera Pheri was directed by Priyadarshan and released in 2000. It was followed by Phir Hera Pheri in 2006, and fans are eagerly anticipating the third installment.
Paresh revealed in an interview with ETimes that he has lost interest in the Hera Pheri sequel. “If I have to do the same thing again, usi prakar ki dhoti pehenke, chashme lagake chalna hai (if I have to wear a similar dhoti and walk in the same way with glasses)… except for money, of course, I will charge a bomb!” he added, citing how Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. got an appropriate sequel. So there will be no fun for me aside from money.
It will not work to make a sequel to Hera Pheri after all those years, with the same old ghisa-pita gags. It needs to develop before I get thrilled about it. Otherwise, wahi chabaya hua niwala firse chabana hai, will not provide me with the same level of enjoyment.”
Paresh Rawal also referred to Akshay as a family man and Suniel as his three-year-old pal. If speculations are to be believed, a sequel to Hera Pheri is in the works, albeit no official announcement has been made. Paresh was last seen in Sharmaji Namkeen on the work front. Next, the actor will star alongside Kartik Aaryan in Shehzada.
