Diwali is just around the corner and we are sure everyone must be excited to celebrate the festival of lights. Bollywood celebrities celebrate this festival with much pomp and some even host grand parties during Diwali. But it seems like Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap have totally different plans this Diwali. According to IANS Ayushmann Khuranna and Tahira Kashyap have decided to send out gifts that are handmade by women ragpickers who have been trained to become artisans. They will be supporting a non-profit organization named Gulmeher. Ayushmann told IANS that Diwali is about spreading happiness and he wants to highlight the work of this organization and show support to the women who need it.
Tahira had further added, “We want to bring their effort to focus and highlight that lives matter and must not be wasted doing dangerous jobs to simply live. We need to secure the future of such countless women and so we want as many people to know about their work and in turn, support them.”
On 17th September 2019, the entire nation celebrated Karwachauth. While Indian women fasted for their husbands on this day, many of the husbands also fasted for their wives’ longer life and health. One of the husbands among them was Ayushmann Khurrana. Since his wife Tahira is still on a recovery stage as she underwent cancer treatment a while back, she is unable to fast for her hubby, but Ayushmann being a doting husband kept the fast for Tahira’s long life-giving out goals to all the husbands out there. Tahira, who was in Dubai shared a video where she is face-timing Aysuhmann who breaks his fast after looking at the moon.
Tahira had captioned the post as, “Embarrassing you further @ayushmannk Our #karvachauth moment! While I am in Dubai for an event, my certainly better half keeps a fast for me on his set! (p.s I am still popping some pills so couldn’t fast) But how adorable are you Mr A ! Love you so much #fastinghusbands thank you @shrutiv11 for capturing this moment!” In case you missed it Take a look:
In a recent interview, he had shared he will be on a break for two-three months. He was quoted as saying, “I don’t know how long the break will be. It could be two to three months, maybe more. All of last year and most of this year I was shooting four back-to-back films. So this past year was really tough. But now I am taking care of it, and I will strike a balance. I am taking time off from mid-November to be with my family.”
In a throwback interview with IANS Ayushmann had once shared how stardom comes at a price and how he misses out on his family time because of his tight schedule. He was quoted as saying, “I hardly get time with my family anymore. I was in Bombay for a couple of days but I hardly spent time (with my family). Living out of a suitcase is not easy. It makes life difficult.”
We wish you a happy and safe Diwali.
