The much-anticipated film Badass Ravi Kumar has been granted a UA 16+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after several modifications were made. The film, which was initially submitted for certification, underwent changes following feedback from the CBFC Examining Committee, which asked for certain edits to make the movie suitable for a wider audience.
The movie, starring Himesh Reshammiya, Kirti Kulhari, Sunny Leone, Prabhudheva, and Sanjay Mishra, was scrutinised by the CBFC on January 29. Among the modifications requested, the alcohol brand names visible in the film were blurred out, and all instances of the middle finger gesture were similarly edited. The Examining Committee also directed the filmmakers to replace close-up sensual visuals, including shots of a bikini-wearing woman and other sexually suggestive imagery, such as close-ups of cleavage and explicit hand movements on a woman’s body. These adjustments were made to ensure the film met the required standards for its intended certificate.
In addition, a violent scene involving a man being cut by a woodcutter machine was modified. The EC also requested that the use of the word “bitch” be muted in the audio and removed from the subtitles. With these revisions completed, the film received its final approval and was cleared for release.
Badass Ravi Kumar has a runtime of 141.44 minutes, or 2 hours, 21 minutes, and 44 seconds, as stated in the censor certificate. The film blends action, drama, and a bold narrative, offering audiences a thrilling cinematic experience. Directed by Keith Gomes and produced by Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, the movie is set to hit cinemas on February 7.
