Himesh said, ‘What Asha ji had said was justified. She was right. That’s why I said sorry to her. But let me tell you what the incident with Asha ji was. We were doing live shows, we were getting a lot of success and everyone was liking the songs. But some people believed that it is nasal, that is, I sing through my nose. Today, after so much success, I can say that yes, it is nasal, and no one will have any objection to it.’

Himesh Reshammiya further said, ‘When five-six of my songs became hits, then people started saying that they are sung through the nose. So at that time, to explain to them, I was trying to say that it is high-pitched, not nasal. And in defense of myself, I said that RD Burman used to sing through his nose. But Asha ji did not like this, and she said that someone should slap me. I agree that I should not have said that.’
