Hina Khan recently married her longtime boyfriend, Rocky Jaiswal. Despite her ongoing battle with breast cancer, the actress hasn’t let it slow her down. She and her husband are currently part of the reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga. In the latest episode, the couples’ mothers-in-law were invited to share personal anecdotes about them. During the episode, Hina’s mother-in-law humorously revealed that Hina neither cooks at home nor is as ‘sanskari’ as her iconic Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai character, Akshara, a confession that left everyone in stitches.
Hina Khan’s mother-in-law opens up about the actress
In the latest episode of Pati Patni Aur Panga, Rocky Jaiswal shared that his mother fears Hina Khan more than him. Adding to this, the actress’s mother-in-law revealed the one thing she dislikes about Hina, despite not knowing how to cook or being interested in it, Hina often points out mistakes in her cooking. She said:
“I want to tell you something. I dislike this one thing about her. I cook different dishes the whole day, and even though she has no knowledge about the spices or even has a kitchen in her dictionary, she still picks out mistakes in the food. Nakhre bahut hai. Saas toh hoon, par ghar par isse kaun panga lega.”
During the same conversation, Rocky’s mother revealed that back when Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai aired, she often watched Hina Khan as ‘Akshara’ and prayed for a daughter-in-law like that character. Ironically, she ended up becoming the actress herself, but without any of Akshara’s qualities. Host Munawar Faruqui then stepped in to clarify that what she meant was that Hina isn’t as sanskari as the character she played on the show. She was quoted as saying:
“Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai jab chal raha tha, toh yeh jo acting karti thi, jo bhi iska role tha, isko main roz dekhti aur mere dil se aise hota tha ki ishwar mujhe bus aise hi bahu de do. Bahu toh vaisi mil gayi par utni sanskari nahi hai. Lekin yeh jaan hai humari.”

Hina Khan began her acting career in 2009 with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, winning hearts as ‘Akshara’ and quickly becoming a household name. Her departure from the show left fans heartbroken, even as the series continued its journey as one of television’s biggest and longest-running hits. It was on the sets of this very show that Hina met Rocky, who was part of the crew while she played the lead role.
Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal confirmed their relationship in 2017 and delighted fans by announcing their wedding in June 2025. She posted photos from the ceremony along with a heartfelt caption that read: “From two different worlds, we built a universe of love.
