How Much Aware Are You Of Your Sexuality?

Those who are sexually and romantically attracted to us tend to have the same sex as us. Nowadays, the terms ‘lesbian’ and ‘gay’ are used to refer to people who experience attraction to members of the same sex, and the term ‘bisexual’ describes people who experience attraction to members of both sexes. It should be noted that, although these categories continue to be widely used, sexual orientation does not always appear in such definable categories and, instead, occurs on a continuum, and people perceived or described by others as LGBTQ may identify in various ways.

Asexual

Some people are not attracted to someone sexually or romantically.
Some tend towards someone sexually or romantically to varying degrees.
Some people are more attracted to someone based on very limited circumstances. For example, someone who is demisexual- someday falls in between the two.
That’s ok! Sexuality is a complex spectrum where everyone is just trying to figure out which shade of gray they are, and asexuality is a part of many peoples’ identities. It’s purely up to you whether or not you want to choose to use the term asexual to describe your identity

Heterosexual

While heterosexuality is the most common sexual identity, it’s just one of many possible sexual orientations. Heterosexual people are sexually or romantically attracted to people of the opposite sex. Heterosexual men are sexually or romantically attracted to women, and heterosexual women are sexually or romantically attracted to men.

People often use the term “straight” in place of the word heterosexual.

Homosexual

Homosexuality refers to the attraction between people who are of the same sex. It comes from the Greek word homos, meaning “the same.” There is no one way to experience same-sex attraction. Many people who are gay develop feelings for people of the same sex in their teenage years. However, it can take some time to find what you’re most attracted to or to be comfortable in acknowledging it to yourself and others. People experience sexual, romantic, and emotional feelings toward another person in different ways at different points in their lives.

Demisexual

Demisexual can be used for a person of any gender any sexual orientation. Straight, lesbian, bisexual, or gay- anyone can be a demisexual. They need to first be close friends with great emotional bonding before you can feel any form of sexual attraction for the person. Your relationships are often a cause of a lot of dilemmas for you. Being attracted to a friend can lead to confusion about the nature of your friendship and you find yourself troubled with the idea of a possible relationship.

Sometimes we might be confused or would want to try and explore things.

Sexual orientation has not fixed definition, new categories and definition keep on adding into it.
