Hollywood star Robert Pattinson recently opened up about the joys of fatherhood, sharing a heartfelt glimpse into his life as a parent. In an interview with Vogue, the 38-year-old actor spoke about the special connection he shares with his daughter, whom he and partner Suki Waterhouse welcomed in March 2024.
Pattinson revealed how the unique scent of his baby has become a treasured aspect of his bond with her. “I remember people used to say, ‘Oh, don’t you like the smell of babies?’ but I thought they were just talking about baby powder,” he admitted with a laugh. “But then I had a baby, and I realised my baby smells incredible.”
What stands out most to the actor is how his daughter’s scent helps him recognise her in a deeply personal way. “There’s something there that helps me identify her. She doesn’t smell like other babies,” Pattinson shared, highlighting the intimate and unique nature of the father-daughter connection.
While Pattinson has been candid about fatherhood, he and Waterhouse have remained tight-lipped about recent rumours of a secret marriage. The couple has not commented on the speculation.
Professional Milestones
On the professional front, Pattinson’s career continues to thrive. His latest film, Mickey 17, directed by the acclaimed Bong Joon Ho, is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. The highly anticipated project marks Joon Ho’s first film since the Oscar-winning Parasite.
Both Pattinson and the director recently attended a press conference in Seoul, where they discussed the challenges and excitement of the production. Praising Pattinson’s versatility, Joon Ho explained his decision to cast the actor as Mickey. “Robert is known for playing superheroes like Batman, but his work in films like Good Time and The Lighthouse showed me his incredible talent,” the director said.
The role of Mickey demands a duality that alternates between “the pitiful and slightly stupid Mickey 17” and “the manic yet charismatic Mickey 18.” According to Joon Ho, Pattinson was the perfect fit for this complex character. “The casting process was relatively easy, as it seems he wanted to play an oddball character like this,” the director added.
As Pattinson juggles his flourishing career and newfound joys of parenthood, fans eagerly await his next on-screen performance in Mickey 17.
