How To Take Care Of Your Skin In Summer

Summer heat and sun are a real test for beauty, since dry air and ultraviolet radiation lead to dehydration, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and age spots. The skin at this time needs special care and respect.

In summer, you should not experiment with new cosmetics, as the skin can react unpredictably. Leave all the experiments for the spring, when the sun is not yet very active – it is during this period that it is better to choose creams, masks, tonics and milk for the summer.

When preparing for the summer, keep in mind that in hot weather, the skin becomes a little oilier. In other words, dry skin approaches normal in its state, normal skin begins to shine, and more blackheads appear on oily skin. Cosmetologists advise to change cosmetics in accordance with these seasonal changes already a month before the start of summer, so that the skin gradually gets used to the new products.

Taking care of your skin in summer

Facial skin care in summer should also be comprehensive and consist of several stages – cleansing, toning, moisturizing, nourishing and protecting. Given the hot weather, it is recommended to use cosmetic products that are lighter, without heavy and fatty ingredients in the composition. For example, moisturizing emulsions that are instantly absorbed, do not leave a greasy sheen, do not create a film, do not clog pores, are not felt at all on the skin and allow it to breathe.

Apply creams in a thin layer, since unabsorbed cream forms a so-called greenhouse effect on the face. It is best to use natural organic skincare cosmetics that do not contain preservatives and artificial fragrances. Also, sunscreens are added to the cosmetic arsenal, since ultraviolet causes skin aging and increases pigmentation.

In summer, the skin is often exposed to temperature changes – for example, we leave the air-conditioned room and go outside, where the temperature reaches 40 ° C, or vice versa. After such contrasting “hardening” procedures, the skin is all the more in need of restoration and intensive hydration.

Gentle cleansing

Summer cleansing should be more thorough, because in addition to cosmetics, the skin has to be removed from the dust that has clogged in the pores. Use antiseptic micellar water, light cosmetic milk, cream, gel or mousse according to your skin type.

Apply a gentle scrub to your face once or twice a week for a deeper gentle cleansing. Never use soap and alcohol lotion in the summer – they dry out the skin and unpleasantly tighten it.

Morning cleansing in the summer is softer than evening cleansing, in the morning you can immediately start toning the skin. During the day, for quick cleansing of dust and oily sheen, use special cleansing or matting wipes. They effectively remove dirt particles from the face and refresh it.

Delicate toning

In summer, the skin needs toning more than ever, thanks to which it is filled with energy, looks healthier, rested and radiant. Soothing tonics with herbal extracts are great for summer, softening the skin after exposure to the sun and helping it recover.

For oily skin, summer becomes a particularly difficult test, as the activity of the sebaceous glands increases and acne appears. Choose tonics with aloe, chamomile and calendula, which relieve irritation and have anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects. An indispensable tool for natural skin care is thermal water or a moisturizer in the form of a spray, which can be used anytime and anywhere.

Abundant hydration

In summer, the skin needs maximum hydration due to dry air and solar activity. So it is easier, it tolerates temperature changes and solar radiation – on moisturized skin and tan lies more evenly.

In the evenings, you can do procedures with moisturizing indelible masks – they are usually applied for 20 minutes in a thick layer, and then the face is bloated with a napkin so that the excess is absorbed into it. In the summer, make such a mask every 2-3 days. Moisturizing creams for dry, oily and combination skin for the summer should contain a high concentration of vitamins, minerals and trace elements, but most importantly – vitamin E, which is a natural antioxidant that enhances cell regeneration. This is especially true after sunbathing, when the skin is damaged by ultraviolet radiation.

It is also good if the creams contain extracts of herbs and fruits, but it is better not to buy cosmetics with glycerin, wax and mineral oils, since they form a film on the surface of the skin that interferes with the flow of air and nutrients. Undesirable components are also vitamin A, C, enzymes and fruit acids, as they increase the sensitivity of the skin to ultraviolet radiation. At night, you can use a cream that stimulates collagen synthesis, such creams increase firmness and elasticity. For the eyes, use light gel creams with sun protection.

Summer food

Summer nourishing creams should also be lighter. The same goes for anti-aging products – as a rule, they contain too heavy components, are slowly absorbed and are not compatible with the sun. This does not mean that you need to give up on the fight against wrinkles – nourishing the skin in summer is just as important as in winter. Just transfer these procedures to the evening, and use light moisturizing emulsions in the morning. Apply nourishing creams and skin rejuvenation products at night, but not before bedtime, but about an hour and a half before going to bed. Immediately before falling asleep, blot your face with a tissue to remove excess cream – this is important to prevent possible swelling.

Do not forget about masks – in summer, sheet masks with vitamins, aloe, hyaluronic acid, herbal and fruit extracts are best suited!
