Huma says, ‘Tarla Dalal reminds me of my childhood days. My mother had a copy of her book in the kitchen and would often try her recipes for my school tiffin. I also vividly remember the time when I helped my mother make Tarla’s homemade mango ice cream. This role has brought me back to my childhood memories and I am very grateful to Ronnie, Ashwini, and Nitesh for believing in me to play this inspiring character.”

Ronnie says about his experience, “Tarla Dalal changed home cooking in India. Her story from a textbook on entrepreneurship is an example of how it is never too late to work towards your ambitions. I am very excited to collaborate with Ashwini and Nitesh once again.”

Talking about this, the film’s director Piyush Gupta who has been the writer of films like Dangal, Chhichhore said, “I am glad that I got an opportunity to portray the life of Tarla Dalal on screen. Being a foodie myself. This film intends to give a treat to all the food lovers of the country.”

Tarla Dalal is an Indian food writer, chef, and cookbook author and has also been a host of cooking shows. She was the first Indian to be awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award in the culinary skills category in 2007. This is the first time that Bollywood is going to bring the life story of a chef. The late chef, who was popular for her delicious meals, was an inspiration to any cook, so much so that her cooking instructions are still present in every culinary food dairy.
